To all foreign workers who have worked in Japan and paid into the Employees' Pension or National Pension systems:

There is a system that allows you to receive a portion of the pension premiums you have paid as a "Lump-sum Withdrawal Payment" after returning to your home country.

However, the application process must be completed after you leave Japan. Furthermore, to file an income tax return with the Japanese tax office (the procedure to claim back the approximately 20% withheld tax), you are required to appoint a "Tax Representative" who resides in Japan.

最初に振り込まれる脱退一時金は、約20%の所得税が引かれた金額（約80%）です。当事務所が納税管理人となり、残りの約20%を取り戻す税務署への還付申告まで責任を持って行います。

② One-Stop Service Including Tax Refund Filing (for the remaining approx. 20%) 

The Lump-sum Withdrawal Payment you initially receive will have about 20% deducted for income tax (meaning you receive about 80%). We will act as your Tax Representative and responsibly handle the tax refund filing with the tax office to claim back the remaining approximately 20%. 

③ 帰国前のご相談で、スケジュールと概算額をアドバイス
「いつ退職し、いつ出国するのがベストか」「だいたい総額でいくら戻ってくるのか」。年金の加入記録等を確認し、帰国前の段階から的確なアドバイスとスケジュール調整を行います。

③ Pre-Departure Consultation for Scheduling and Estimated Amount Advice

"When is the best time to resign and depart?" "Roughly how much will I get back in total?" By checking your pension enrollment records, we provide accurate advice and help you coordinate your schedule even before you leave Japan.

脱退一時金は、2段階に分けてお手元に届きます。

第1段階：年金機構からのご送金（総額の約79.58％）
申請手続き後、日本の年金機構からご本人様の海外口座へ直接送金されます。

Stage 1: Remittance from the Japan Pension Service (Approx. 79.58% of the total amount)

 After the application process is complete, the Japan Pension Service will transfer the funds directly to your overseas bank account.

第2段階：当事務所からのご送金（総額の約20.42％分の還付金 － 代行報酬）

後日、税務署から当事務所へ還付された税金から、代行報酬を差し引いた金額をご指定の口座へ送金いたします。

Stage 2: Remittance from Our Office (Tax refund of approx. 20.42% of the total amount minus our service fee)

At a later date, the tax office will refund the deducted tax to our office. We will then transfer this refunded amount to your designated bank account, after deducting our service fee.

例：脱退一時金の金額が1,000,000円の場合

最初に年金機構から海外の口座へ振り込まれる金額は

1,000,000×79.58％=795,800円です。

２回目は源泉徴収された204,200円を還付申告します。

還付金額は税金の計算後に確定します。

還付金額から当事務所への報酬額である66,000円～84,480円の半額の33,000円～42,240円を控除した額を当事務所から送金します。

送金方法については可能な限り希望を伺います。

送金方法について協議が調わない場合、当事務所で決定する場合がございます。

Example: If the Lump-sum Withdrawal Payment is 1,000,000 yen

The initial amount remitted from the Japan Pension Service to your overseas account will be: 1,000,000 yen × 79.58% = 795,800 yen.

For the second stage, we will file a tax return to claim the withheld amount of 204,200 yen. The exact refund amount will be finalized after the tax calculation. We will then remit the refund to you, after deducting 33,000 yen to 42,240 yen (which is half of our total service fee of 66,000 yen to 84,480 yen). We will do our best to accommodate your preferred method of remittance. If an agreement on the remittance method cannot be reached, our office may determine the method.

報酬額

・脱退一時金の金額が100万円以下・・・・・・・66,000

・If the Lump-sum Withdrawal Payment is 1,000,000 yen or less: 66,000 yen

・脱退一時金の金額が100万円超128万円以下・・請求額の6.6％

・If the amount is over 1,000,000 yen and up to 1,280,000 yen: 6.6% of the claimed amount

・脱退一時金の金額が128万円超・・・・・・・・84,480

・If the amount is over 1,280,000 yen: 84,480 yen

・着手金・・・・上記の報酬額の５０％

・Initial Retainer Fee ・・・50% of the above service fee

・送金手数料・・・2,200円までであれば当事務所負担、2,200円を超過した分は送金額から控除

・Our office will cover up to 2,200 yen. Any amount exceeding 2,200 yen will be deducted from the remitted amount.

※市役所へ転出届を提出していない場合は転出届を行政書士として作成・提出いたしますので、別途16,500円がかかります。

If you have not submitted a moving-out notification to the city hall, we will prepare and submit it on your behalf as an Administrative Scrivener. An additional fee of 16,500 yen will apply.

脱退一時金を受け取ると、それまでの日本の年金加入期間が「0（リセット）」になります。
Receiving the Lump-sum Withdrawal Payment will reset your past pension enrollment period in Japan to "0."

将来、日本に再度入国して働き、日本の老齢年金（原則10年の加入が必要）を受け取る可能性がある場合は、一時金を受け取らずに加入期間を残しておく方が有利なケースもあります。
If there is a possibility that you will return to Japan to work in the future and receive the Japanese old-age pension (which generally requires 10 years of enrollment), it may be more advantageous not to claim the lump-sum payment and leave your enrollment period intact.
